A Brief History of the Company
A German immigrant, Otto Kolschwsky, instituted OSI Group, LLC in 1909. The company has undergone several rounds of names change since its establishment. It was first known as Otto Kolschwsky Meat Market but later changed its name to Otto & Sons in 1928. In 1975, Otto & Sons changed its name to OSI Industries and then to OSI Group.

One its first biggest client was McDonalds who had just launched a chain of fast food restaurants. In 1955, they formalized their contract with a handshake. Up to date, OSI Group still supplies ground beef to McDonalds. In 1999, OSI Group landed another high-profile client called Best Chicago Meat Co., LLC.

The company pocketed the Sword of Honor Award for excelling in health and safety while Globe of Honor Award was for best practice in environmental management.
In an attempt to expand its business in Europe, OSI Group, LLC acquired Baho Foods, a Dutch food processing company. According to the acquisition agreements, Baho Food will operate under OSI Group. Additionally, Baho Foods’ employees including its managing director John Balvers will retain their current positions.
